A quick note. Recruiters and Names Sourcers: You need to look at email and LinkedIn InMail campaigns (direct messaging campaigns) the same way you look at calls. Just as with calls, the response / conversion rate increases as the number of messages sent out increases. Though I opine that emailing and direct messaging is more efficient in terms of response rates vs. calls, you still need to make a focused effort and not just a few haphazard messages to a few people. The same rules can be applied for direct email lead generation campaigns.
In addition, look at emailing or messaging like networking – not everyone you email is PERFECT for the position. But, they know people!! Treat them right and with respect in your messaging and subsequent responses and they may just help you!
