A while back I was standing looking at a killer painting with my aunt who is an art consultant, and two others walked up. After a second or two, one stated: “Ahh, come on…I could have painted that.” My aunt turned to the idiot and responded, “But you didn’t, did you?”
Of course, the idiot walked away.
Arrogant recruiters are also fond of stating such ignorance when looking at a list or source painstakingly found and made useable (USEABLE, AKA, IMPORTABLE, SEARCHABLE, ABLE TO FILTER) by a researcher or names sourcer. I’ve been around many, one of which was likely making up for his unusual small stature.
“I could have found that.” But you didn’t, did you?
